Maruti Q2 FY27: Record Sales, Inventory and Pending Bookings
Maruti Suzuki's latest quarterly update combines record sales with a substantial order queue. Its 27 October 2026 official release covers Q2 FY2026-27, the July–September period. The inventory and pending-booking figures below describe the end of that quarter, rather than today's position at an individual showroom.
Maruti Q2 FY27 sales, inventory and exports
| Measure | Official quarterly update |
|---|---|
| Total sales volume | Record 696,654 vehicles; up 26.5% year on year |
| Network inventory at quarter-end | About 17 days |
| Pending bookings at quarter-end | About 200,000 vehicles |
| Exports | 108,119 vehicles, versus 110,487 a year earlier |

Our reading is that the domestic demand picture and the export comparison need separate attention. A record total does not require every part of the business to set a record. Keep the time period and the market being measured consistent when comparing subsequent announcements.
Why network inventory is not a delivery promise
Inventory expressed in days describes the stock position across the network. It does not tell you whether your preferred engine, gearbox, colour and equipment combination is available nearby. Reading that figure as a personal waiting period would attach a promise the release does not make.
Likewise, an aggregate booking queue cannot establish your place in a model-specific allocation list. Ask the dealer whether the quoted vehicle is physically available, allocated, in transit or still awaiting allocation. Request an estimated delivery window in writing and agree how you will receive updates if it changes.
While comparing available variants, check your indicative eligible amount and estimated EMI before shortlisting. Results are indicative; final eligibility, rate, tenure and approval depend on the lender.
How to use the capacity update when shopping
The practical question is whether the supply information supports the exact vehicle you want. Ask for the complete variant name and manufacturing details when an actual unit is offered. If an adviser suggests a different variant for earlier delivery, compare its equipment and complete quotation before accepting the change.
A company-wide capacity statement does not identify which showroom receives which vehicle. Treat a confirmed allocation, the condition of the offered car and the written commercial terms as separate checks. Avoid making a financing decision solely because a preferred colour is described as scarce.
What to confirm before a dealer visit
Keep a written record of the vehicle specification, estimated delivery window, booking-cancellation terms and itemised on-road quotation. Use those details to compare offers on the same basis.
Before visiting the dealer, review an indicative eligible amount and estimated EMI alongside your budget. Results are indicative; final eligibility, rate, tenure and approval depend on the lender.
